You may not know it, but most of us have inherited a faith shaped by more than just Scripture and tradition.
Over centuries, Christianity became entangled with conquest, stories that justified domination, and silenced those on the margins. It became entangled with the earthly Empire, versus the Heavenly Kingdom of God. Many of us absorbed those distortions without ever being given language for them. This gathering is a chance to start finding that language.
Decolonizing discipleship simply means asking: What have we been taught to believe about God, land, and neighbor — and where did those teachings actually come from?
It means being willing to grieve what was lost, unlearn what was harmful, and grow toward a faith that is more honest, more whole, and more just.
We'll explore how the stories we've inherited shape the way we see the world, why the land and the voices we've overlooked matter to discipleship, and what it looks like to begin watering something new.
